How can we apply for the TechBoost program?

If you meet the requirements (cloud-based business model, promising business idea with growth potential, young company with headquarters/billing address in Germany), fill out the application form here. Please don’t forget to enter your partner code if you are in an incubator or accelerator program that cooperates with TechBoost.

Are our chances better if we’re taking part in an accelerator or incubator program?

Your participation in an accelerator or incubator program will not influence the decision, but it may make it possible to evaluate your business model more quickly. If your program already has a partnership with TechBoost, please enter your partner code in the application. If the provider of your current support program is not yet a TechBoost partner, ask them about it. Your provider can contact us at any time!

Why was our application rejected?

Your application will be checked thoroughly by our expert team and the TechBoost board. A rejection doesn’t mean that your business idea isn’t promising. We are looking for particular features that match the basic criteria of TechBoost, and it may simply be that we don’t see them in your project.

When will we find out whether our start-up has been accepted into the TechBoost program?

We usually notify you within 10 working days.

Can we view the status of our application?

We’re sorry, but unfortunately that’s not possible. We can’t provide an online tracking tool, but we will inform you via email as soon as we have made a decision. This usually takes around 10 working days.

We were accepted into the TechBoost program. What happens now?

You will receive an email confirming that your application has been accepted and that you will become part of the TechBoost program. After you’ve received the confirmation, we will send you a framework agreement. Please sign this and send it back to telekom@techboost.de. If you have any questions about it, simply send us an email. We will countersign the agreement and send it back to you via email. Should you need a hard copy of the signed agreement, please let us know. In purely legal terms, your participation in the TechBoost program starts when both parties have signed the agreement.
Your contact person will then call you and discuss different options for mobile devices and DSL contracts. You will also be assigned a specialist who will discuss different Open Telekom Cloud service configurations, which you can then book directly from your account and begin to use. The mobile device and DSL contracts need your signature – the faster you sign and send back the agreement, the faster you can get going.

Do we already have to be a Telekom customer to be accepted into the TechBoost program?

No, it makes no difference to us. The most important criteria are the baseline requirements (cloud-based business model, promising business idea with growth potential, young company with headquarters/billing address in Germany). Each application is judged on its own merits.

What can the Open Telekom Cloud do?
What if we’re already using the Open Telekom Cloud?

The one-year credit is generally only given to new customers. Exceptions are possible in individual cases if valid reasons exist.

How do we use the credit for the Open Telekom Cloud?

The one-year credit is transferred to your account. You then book the services on your own, which of course can be done online. If you remain within the credit limit for this first year, you will not have any costs. Should you exceed the amount of the credit, you will owe the difference. How do we create an account for the Open Telekom Cloud?

The account is opened when we finalize the contract – we will then send you the access information by email.

What happens at the end of the year of credit for the Open Telekom Cloud?

One of the major advantages of TechBoost is that you can access a €100,000 credit for the Open Telekom Cloud for 12 months.
When the credit expires after 12 months, you only pay for the Open Telekom Cloud services that you have booked and activated via your account.

Where can we view the monthly costs for the Open Telekom Cloud services we have booked?

We will send you an invoice once a month in which you can see what you have consumed. This invoice serves solely as documentation of your consumption. It does not result in any payment obligations for you, as you are a member of the TechBoost program.

What happens if we exceed the value of the Open Telekom Cloud credit before the first year is over?

You will be invoiced for all fees in excess of your €100,000 credit.

What kind of technical support will we have?

We assign an Open Telekom Cloud solution architect to you immediately, and they will help you to get on board and take the first steps. This solution architect can also advise on the best use of the Open Telekom Cloud, and try to answer your questions on IaaS, OpenStack, application migration, and software architecture. The technical support on offer is solely an aid. The actual implementation/migration to the Open Telekom Cloud must be conducted by the start-up itself.

What does the TechBoost program offer?

The TechBoost program offers

  • A €100,000 credit for the Open Telekom Cloud for a period of one year
  • 20% discount on landline and add-on options, no activation charge, €120 investment cost allowance per landline for new customers, (valid for DeutschlandLAN IP Voice/Data S, M, L)
  • 10% discount on mobile phone contracts (valid for Magenta Business S, M, L, L+) plus base fee exemption for up to three months, no activation charge, option of two multi-SIM cards
  • Marketing support services following program acceptance and individual agreement with Telekom
How long can we use the services? How long are the discounts (mobile phone and landline/DSL contracts) valid for?

The Open Telekom Cloud credit expires after one year.
If you sign mobile phone or landline contracts, your discount will be valid for the length of the contract (also in the case of a contract extension).

What does the marketing support comprise?

We want to help you convert your potential into business success. As soon as your company has its IT infrastructure in place, we will contact you to discuss how Telekom can support you in achieving your marketing revenue objectives. Depending on the potential of your start-up and how it fits in with Deutsche Telekom, there are options for developing joint business models, revenue cooperation, inclusion in our Cloud portal, PR, joint appearances at Deutsche Telekom events and trade fair stands, and much more.

May we use the Telekom logo for advertising purposes if we have received confirmation that we have been accepted into the TechBoost program?

If you are one of the selected program participants, it may be possible to use the Telekom logo, but this is decided on a case-by-case basis and is subject to the terms and brand guidelines of Deutsche Telekom.
