Why cybersecurity is now a management responsibility

Cyberattacks have long since ceased to be a threat solely to IT systems. They jeopardise value creation, reputation, supply chains and the regulatory capacity of entire organisations. The new study “Cybersecurity & Digital Resilience 2026” shows how companies in the DACH region assess their security situation, where responsibilities are still too often fragmented, and what role artificial intelligence already plays in cyber defence today.

The findings make it clear that many companies feel well protected – yet security responsibilities, risk management and operational defences are not always properly aligned. At the same time, pressure is mounting due to AI, automation, new regulatory requirements and complex digital ecosystems. Find out

  • Why cybersecurity is increasingly becoming a management responsibility
  • Which is why responsibility for IT security often does not lie with the traditional security officers
  • Which cyber risks are currently of greatest concern to businesses
  • Why supply chain risks are often underestimated
  • The extent to which AI is already being used in IT security
  • The role that governance, automation and digital resilience play in the cyber defences of the future

The study is based on a survey of 324 executives and senior IT managers from companies in the DACH region. It provides concise insights, relevant key figures and clear guidance for decision-makers looking to strategically advance their cybersecurity strategies.
