Microsoft 365: New features and prices from July 2026

Microsoft has announced that it will be updating the features and pricing of several Microsoft 365 editions with effect from 1 July 2026. This affects both Business and Enterprise plans, which are used in many organisations for communication, collaboration and document management.

In addition to new features, some licence prices will also be adjusted. The updates will be rolled out gradually to existing customers.

In a nutshell:

  • From 1 July 2026, Microsoft will be changing the features and prices of its core 365 plans.
  • This affects, among others, Business Basic/Standard as well as Office/Microsoft 365 E and F plans.
  • Prices rise significantly depending on the plan, particularly for F1/F3 and several standalone products.

Which Microsoft 365 plans are affected

The changes affect some of the most commonly used plans in the Microsoft 365 portfolio, including:

  • Microsoft 365 Business Basic
  • Microsoft 365 Business Standard
  • Office 365 E3
  • Office 365 E5
  • Microsoft 365 E3
  • Microsoft 365 E5
  • Microsoft 365 F1
  • Microsoft 365 F3

The changes apply to commercial and non-profit plans, as well as to versions with and without Microsoft Teams.

Overview of the announced price adjustments

Alongside these functional enhancements, Microsoft is adjusting the prices for some plans. Based on the information currently available, the changes include the following:

  • Microsoft 365 Business Basic: approximately +17%
  • Microsoft 365 Business Standard: approximately +12%
  • Office 365 E3: approximately +13%
  • Office 365 E5: approximately +8%
  • Microsoft 365 E3: approximately +8%
  • Microsoft 365 E5: approximately +5%
  • Microsoft 365 F1: approximately +33%
  • Microsoft 365 F3: approximately +25%

In addition to the Microsoft 365 suites, Microsoft is also adjusting the prices of several standalone products. These are often used to complement existing Microsoft 365 plans, for example for security, identity management or device management. The standalone products affected include, amongst others:

+11%• Windows Enterprise per Device: approx. +31%No price adjustment

is currently planned for Microsoft 365 Business Premium, Office 365 E1 and Microsoft 365 Copilot. At present, only the prices in dollars have been confirmed; the final prices in euros will be published approximately one month before they come into effect. You will then also find these in the preview price list on the Telekom Business Customer Portal.

What new features are being added

With this update, Microsoft is expanding several functional areas within Microsoft 365. These include enhancements to AI features, security mechanisms, and device and application management.

Some of the new features relate to AI-powered assistance functions. The Copilot Chat is being expanded and enhanced with additional analysis and management features. Features from Microsoft Security Copilot are also set to be integrated more closely.

In terms of security, additional protective measures have been introduced. These include features from Microsoft Defender for Office 365, as well as automatic URL checks in Outlook and Office apps on web and mobile devices.

In addition, management and analytics features for endpoints are being expanded. New features within Microsoft Intune include, amongst others:

  • Remote support features
  • Advanced analysis tools
  • Management of permissions on end devices
  • Enterprise application management

In addition, email storage capacity will be expanded and further cloud-based infrastructure services will be added, such as Microsoft Cloud PKI.

Timetable for the announced changes

The changes will be implemented in two stages:

  • 1 July 2026: New prices come into effect
  • Summer 2026: gradual roll-out of the new features to existing customers

Organisations will be notified via relevant notifications within the Microsoft 365 Admin Portal before the new features are activated.

It may be useful for organisations to take a look at their own Microsoft 365 environment beforehand. This includes, for example:

  • The licensing models currently in use
  • Existing additional features or add-ons
  • Possible changes to contract terms or licensing structures
