Mobile phone use on ships and aeroplanes
On many ships and aeroplanes, mobile phone use is possible via special networks for telephony and text messaging, and in some cases mobile data use is also possible. Customers can find out which operator provides service to the ship or aeroplane from their travel provider or directly from the cruise line, ferry company or airline. Operators are obliged to operate their networks on board exclusively outside the coverage area of the respective mobile networks on land. They can be identified by their own network name.
Use and billing via the mobile phone contract with Telekom is possible if Telekom supports mobile phone use on ships and aeroplanes. The following conditions do not apply to mobile phone connections, SMS and MMS to service and special numbers, or to data use via Wi-Fi.

Good to know: Data roaming passes for use on ships and in aeroplanes can, if desired, continue to be used after arrival in your destination country. To do this, simply authorise continued use at pass.telekom.de (accessible only via the mobile network). You can find out which partner networks we work with by checking the ‘Roaming Partner Networks’ section on the right-hand side of the roaming website’s homepage. Simply enter “Maritime Network” or “Airline Connection”.
