Rent one or more mailboxes via EDI and exchange business data based on X.400 technology. Your X.400 mailbox is provided in the Telekom data centre. You can access it directly
from your PC/host using special client software, e.g. Filework.

Features:

• The standard mailbox allows documents to be sent and received in the message text (e.g. EDIFACT, XML) or as binary attachments (e.g. tables, presentations).
• EDI mailbox: The EDI mailbox offers advanced EDI functionalities (e.g. centrally managed EDI trading partners, centralised dispatch of EDIFACT documents or closed user groups).
• With the EDI mailbox, you can only send EDIFACT documents as message text or data attachments.
• Store and forward system for X.400 messages.
• Secure exchange of data in any format (e.g. EDIFACT, in-house, PDF, etc.)
• In addition to traditional connections, host connections via file interface (FTP, SFTP, https/WebDAV) or using the EDIINT AS2 protocol are also possible.
• High security thanks to closed user group

MailGate X.400: Connection of existing X.

400 in-house systems You already operate a good mail server (e.g. Microsoft Exchange?
MailGate X.400 enables you to exchange application-independent, standardised messages via the global X.400 network.
Unlike MailBox x.400, incoming emails are actively delivered to you.

Features:

• Connections of a mail system via X.400 MTA (P1) or SMTP MTA to BusinessMail X.400
• Cross-application communication between a wide variety of messaging systems via the global X.400 network
• Solution for companies with their own mail infrastructure that require active delivery of X.400 messages
• Access networks: MPLS, Internet (IPSec VPN)
• Transitions to other communication services: fax gateway (outbound), Internet gateway (SMTP), AS2 gateway

The solution for customers who are unable to use an X.400 mailbox due to technical circumstances (no P7 solution for OS, Secure P7 not permitted in the network). The MessageGate File Interface offers X.400 customers the option of sending business data to partners and receiving data from them via a file interface and standard Internet protocols.

Benefits for MailBox/MailGate X.400 users:

• No mailbox required, as delivery is made directly to the file interface.
• Use of standard internet protocols https and SFTP
• When using the central EDI function, EDIFACT documents can be sent directly.

Due to a lack of standards, the Internet has been of secondary importance in the EDI sector up to now.
Telekom's AS2 gateway makes the Internet the basis for complex business processes with BusinessMail X.400:
X.400 customers can contact their business partners in the AS2 world flexibly via the Internet and are accessible to them.

Benefits for MailBox/MailGate X.400 users:

• No investment/operating costs required for an AS2 solution
• No costs for securing a permanent internet connection
• No operational expenses for setting up and managing partners and certificates
• Number of globally accessible partners increases significantly

Benefits for AS2 users:

• X.400 users can (still) be reached without operating an X.400 communication module.
• In conjunction with central EDI function, many X.400 partners can be reached via an AS2 partner licence.
