ESG stands for "Environmental", "Social" and "Governance" and covers the areas of environment, social affairs and corporate governance.

These aspects are becoming increasingly important as investors, customers and stakeholders increasingly favour sustainable companies.

64% of companies have created responsibilities for sustainability at management level.

85% of the companies surveyed acknowledge that ESG criteria have a significant impact on their business results.

71% of the companies surveyed have already taken initiatives to reduce their CO2 emissions and introduce more environmentally friendly practices.

When it comes to social responsibility, 68% of companies show commitment. They promote diversity and inclusion in the workplace and support social projects and programmes.

The study also shows that 53% of the companies surveyed want to invest more heavily in sustainable technologies over the next five years in order to further optimise their ESG strategies.

Nine out of ten companies plan to introduce ESG management software to steer the process of sustainable transformation.

Challenges and approaches to solutions

Our study identified some of the key challenges for companies in the area of ESG

79% of respondents see the greatest challenge in collecting and reconciling sustainability data, as this often takes place in different systems.
One possible solution to this challenge is to introduce ESG management software that enables all relevant sustainability data to be consolidated in a single system, thereby facilitating the management of the transformation process.
