With e-billing, invoice information is transmitted, received and processed entirely digitally – without any media breaks. For you, this means faster processes, less manual work and future-proof invoice processing.
Unlike paper or PDF invoices, e-invoices contain structured, machine-readable data. This allows invoices to:
- Sent electronically,
- Automatically receive and
- Processed immediately and released for payment – without any intermediate steps or manual intervention.
Which formats are considered e-bills?
E-invoices must comply with the requirements of European standard EN 16931. The following formats are permitted:
- X-invoice (XML file in UBL or CII format)
- ZUGFeRD (PDF with embedded XML file – currently not yet in use at Telekom)
- EDI procedures, provided they comply with standard EN 16931
We rely on the XML format (UBL) and the proven EDI procedures ELMO and ELFE.
