Microsoft Teams Telefonie by Telekom

Microsoft Teams Telefonie by Telekom is an innovative extension for Microsoft Teams that seamlessly integrates all standard telephony functions into the Microsoft Teams environment. This enables companies to make and receive external calls directly from Microsoft Teams – regardless of location and device.

First, you need Microsoft Teams. Microsoft Teams is usually already part of a Microsoft 365 or Office 365 licence package. It is important that you have a suitable licence that supports Teams. You also need a Telekom connection product and the Telekom Teams Telefonie extension.

Depending on whether you use mobile or landline services, you will require different products.

Microsoft Teams Telefonie offers a wide range of features that integrate traditional telephony systems into a new hybrid working environment. Key features include:

Yes. You can use your existing phone numbers in Microsoft Teams. If you currently have your connection with a competitor, your phone numbers can be ported to Telekom. We will be happy to assist you with this.

When using Microsoft Teams Telefonie by Telekom, the following separate services are relevant:

1) The cloud service that brings together PSTN telephony and the Microsoft world.

2) Microsoft Teams as a collaboration tool; the data protection principles for using Microsoft Cloud Services are described in the Microsoft Products and Services Data Protection Addendum (DPA).

Microsoft Teams does not support faxing. However, Telekom offers a solution that allows faxing outside of Microsoft Teams. Alternatively, you can operate a parallel PBX system, which allows you to connect other analogue devices in addition to a fax machine.
